Google +1 button is going to play a HUGE role in marketing from this point forward! You are standing at the very advent of a dramatic shift in online marketing at this moment and the question is… are you going to be an early adapter and take advantage of it? So what is Google +1?

#1 Google is going to implement +1 EVERYWHERE! You can imagine the instant success this will have since it is being pushed not only on search results but brower extensions, adwords, personal websites, blog postings, and finally I think its safe to say… Androids as well! With this much exposure, it is sure to catch on fast and be a success.
#2 It will LIKELY Influence Google Rankings! Matt Cutts (Google’s SEO Outreach Guy) said in a live webcast that +1 is “definitely a signal we’re paying a lot of attention to”. This is HUGE because as we all know SEO is the name of the game when it comes to online success and though many of us don’t have the knowledge or expertise to work meta-tags, backlinks, and keywords… There is no question that EVERYONE knows how to click a button! Listen, I know my grandma doesn’t know how to create a back-link pointing to my website on her popular real estate site however… she can handle clicking a button. Now think of this, next time ANYONE in her contact list does a search for my industry they will see that she recommended my site, THATS HUGE!!!
#3 Google Will Leverage Data From Popular Sites Like Twitter! Ok, so maybe my grandma doesn’t have her online contact list updated like she should… Well that’s ok because Google will not only be feeding just her gmail contacts but also Twitter® and possibly Facebook®, LinkedIn® and other popular social networks. This REALLY expands the list of people who see her recommendation!
#4 Sites with +1 Are Going To Get More Clicks! There is no question about this one. How many times when purchasing something from Amazon have you paid a little bit more to buy something from a seller who had a higher star rating? WE ALL HAVE! Because a higher star rating means we can trust that person. Trust goes a LONG way online and for that reason, sites that have more +1′s are going to get higher traffic -that’s all there is to it.
#5 This Will Be The First REAL Social Search Engine! For some time now search engines have been flirting with the idea of social intergration. Both Google and Bing have already implemented this, Google with it’s Real Time Feature (check out my post here) and Bing with its Facebook Integration. But this REALLY takes it to the next level.
